About the Book
Standpoint Autotheory brings together twelve contributions, including work by Verena Melgarejo Weinandt, that explore radically self-reflexive modes of research and artistic practice. The volume traces how embodied, situated, and relational experiences can function as critical tools for knowledge production, social transformation, and the reconfiguration of dominant epistemologies.
The book’s contributors engage with diverse methodologies, including autoethnography, auto-historia teorĂa, standpoint theories, strong objectivity, situated knowledge, performative philosophy, and autofiction, to illuminate the intersections of the personal and the political, and the interconnections between individual and collective experience.
Through these varied approaches, Standpoint Autotheory foregrounds how writing and artistic practice can act as sites of resistance, self-authorization, and radical positioning; where thinking and feeling, theory and lived experience, converge.
